Palawan resort
AFTER recently opening its third resort in Panglao, Bohol, a resorts group is next eyeing a fourth one in the province of Palawan.
Julie Alegrado-Vergara, president of the Bluewater group of resorts, said the group recently acquired a two-hectare property in San Vicente, Palawan, which is about four hours north of Puerto Prin-cesa.

Vergara recently said they wanted to open up resorts in major tourist destinations of the country.
However, she said they do not have a date to begin construction yet, as they just opened the Bluewater Panglao resort last Sunday.
She said they want to “relax first” as the coming year will be a busy one for them.
Renovation
Renovations are ongoing at their Maribago resort, which began last year, and are being done slowly so as not to disrupt their operations.
They also want to expand their Sumilon resort from 14 rooms to 27 beginning next year.
Just this year, the Sumilon resort also introduced a novel way for guests to do camping.
Vergara said the concept of “glam-ping”—taken from the words glamorous camping, is something popular in Europe.
Nature
She said guests who take this option are given a tent “with the works.”
Slightly cheaper than a room st the resort, Vergara said it provides guests a way to be closer to nature, as it is near the beach, but does not sacrifice comfort.
The tents come with beds and a living area. While only two beds are in each tent, Vergara said each tent can easily fit 12 people.
The resort began offering glamping packages last April. She said glamping is a bonding activity for couples and families who love the outdoors.
More rooms
They currently have 10 tents for the glamping package.
As for the Panglao resort, five more hectares will soon be developed to complete 200 rooms, more meeting rooms, another pool, spa and a convention hall.
At present, it has 54 rooms, including four family lofts, three honeymoon villas and a family villa.
Despite its being located beside other resorts, Vergara is not worried about competition, saying it is actually a good thing.
She believes the more properties developed bring in more “noise” and that it can become more attractive to tourists, who will have more choices.
“We don’t see each other as competition. We see them as friends. Each one (resort) has its own specialty,” she explained.
She added that visitors choose which resort can give them the experience that they want and that they try to differentiate themselves from other resorts by showcasing Filipino hospitality.

Accomodation in el nido palawan
Question by .: How much does it cost to stay at el nido palawan per night?
I don’t want to spend a lot. Are there better places to stay than el nido palawan?
Best answer:
Answer by OasisNick
There are only a couple of resorts at El Nido, Palawan – both are owned by the same company and are expensive! ($ 120 p/n +)
El Nido is at the northern tip of Palawan and is very beautiful and unspoiled but it is hard to get to. If looking for budget options then Puerto Pricesa is the place to fly in to (from Manila or Cebu), from here you can easily explore the underground rivers and great beaches on a small budget (US$ 20 per day kind of level).
